What does Pro add beyond Free?
Pro unlocks the three things that matter most once you're actively preparing for court: unlimited document storage (screenshots, PDFs, photos, email threads), deadline alerts (email reminders fired 14 / 7 / 3 / 1 days before every hearing and filing deadline), and the court-ready timeline PDF export with a Certification of Records footer. Free covers a single case with the full timeline tracker, in-app messaging, and your virtual mailbox address.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Pro is billed monthly and you can cancel from your account page at any time. Your free case — and everything you've already uploaded — stays accessible after you cancel; you only lose access to the Pro-only features going forward. No cancellation fees, no email gauntlet.
Is my data private? Who can see my case?
Only people you explicitly invite to a case can see it. We don't sell, share, or analyze your case data. Every action is audit-logged (7-year retention) so you'll always have a tamper-evident record of who accessed what. Account passwords are bcrypt-hashed, optional MFA is available, and we don't require a physical address at signup — you work out of a virtual mailbox.
Do I need an attorney to use CaseVault?
No. CaseVault is designed for pro se litigants (people representing themselves), attorneys, and anyone in between. The case tracker, evidence ledger, and timeline work whether you're handling the case yourself, working with counsel, or coordinating with a guardian ad litem. CaseVault is a documentation tool — it does not provide legal advice, and nothing in the app should be read as a substitute for consulting a licensed attorney in your jurisdiction.
Is my address ever exposed?
No. CaseVault generates you a virtual mailbox address (formatted firstname.casevault) that you can give to attorneys, courts, and opposing parties in place of your physical address. You never enter a home address into CaseVault at signup, and messages routed through the virtual mailbox never reveal your location. This is the default for every account — Free and Pro.
